XOXOXO-The Queen

Supplies:
  • 2 Heavyweight Laminate Sheets
  • Confetti Glitter Mix of Your Choice
  • Elastic String
  • 5 Grommets
  • 1 Key Ring (to attach bow)
  • Rhinestone Letters
  • Laminating Machine
  • Hole Punch
  • Glitter Foam Sheet and Rhinestone Border for Bow

Begin by spreading the confetti mix evenly over one open sheet of the laminate paper.  Carefully close and run through Laminating machine.  Place this into the unused laminate sheet, and run both through the laminating machine.  This next step is optional if you would like to have moving shake pieces inside, if not, move onto adding the grommets and strings. [Using an Exacto Knife, cut a slit in the 1st layer of laminate sheet, and add additional Confetti Glitter mix.  Seal with Transparent tape] Fold in half and use craft clips to secure.  Use hole punch to punch 2 holes at the top and bottom of the spine directly on the fold approximately .5 inches from the top and bottom.  Maintain this distance between the two holes as well.  Punch a hole in the middle of the spine, equidistant from the top and bottom holes.   Insert 1 grommet into each hole and close.  Lace 3 elastic strings through holes from top to bottom, tying each one individually at the center.   Below is a video that gives instructions on how to construct the bow; attach the keyring to the back with hot glue to lace through the middle string.  To secure middle string, pull both ends through middle grommet hole and tie a knot.

Envelopes for Junk Journals

My latest obsession when it comes to junk journaling and creating are envelopes to stash different goodies in.  In the beginning, I would hoard envelopes that I either found or were given, altering and embellishing them.  The process began to evolve when I came across a fabulous board for card making that has a built in scoring mat and cutter.  I started thinking, "as simple as the structure of an envelope is, these have to be simple to construct.  The next thing I know, I was on Pinterest and Google; printing some of the chicest envelopes I have ever seen.  I printed mine on cardstock in various different sizes, punching a hole in a few to add to my A5 and A6 planners.  A that I had really came to enjoy is using my the clean back of my mis-printed sheets of  cardstock that I save from random projects to print my envelopes, giving them a ready-printed design on the inside.  Each one is unique, fun, and easily fillable with various ephemera....

Journal Bows/Bookmarks

One of my favorite past times is creating all different types of clips to decorate my journals and planners.  Depending on what style is utilized, they can be added to virtually anything as the perfect accent or finishing touch.  Each of these items are bits, baubles, and scraps that were left over from other projects(idk, I find I'm the most creative when I'm challenged to use what I already have!).  The bows can be made using free printable templates that can be found on Google, however, I prefer a simple freehand method, in which I linked a video below to show that process(Shout out to Xao Vang!).  Please comment below and share your finished projects!
